Female singer Shakira said she “is fine without a husband” when sharing about her life as a single mother, which is helping her find inspiration in her work.
In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Shakira said raising her children alone and living far away from Barcelona helped her nurture her artistry. The Colombian singer said that when she was dating Gerard Pique, she struggled to find balance.

“Sometimes it’s like a love-hate relationship because every time I have to go to the studio to work, I fail. I feel like I’m neglecting my family. There are times when I’m really not having fun, you know.” I feel guilty, I feel torn apart,” the beauty confided.
But as her children grew older and returned to single life, Shakira believed that her singing career gradually flourished. She said: “Although now I face more challenges because I am responsible for taking care of the children, the two children still depend on their mother too much. And I am a single mother without a husband at home to help. But In some ways, not having a husband is good. I don’t know why it drags me down. Now I feel inspired to work, compose, and make music, something I didn’t feel before.”
In an interview with The Times last week, Shakira confessed that she had sacrificed her music career and stepped back to take care of the home so that Gerard Pique could comfortably strive for his football career.
Shakira will release her 12th album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (roughly translated: Women Don’t Cry Anymore) this weekend. The last time the two-child beauty released an album was 7 years ago.
